Current Status

1. Essential building repair

Before commencing work inside the church, the tower roof is in urgent need of replacement.  We plan to complete the tower roof replacement by the end of 2025.

2. Installing a semi-professional kitchen and other improvements

Work is progressing steadily towards starting the installation of a semi-professional kitchen to replace the ‘tired’ kitchen that is located in the ground floor of the church tower. We will be moving the emergency exit to the south side of the church (a new door being formed from the toilet block) and providing a cesspool for the the kitchen waste water.  We are working on the final stages of this work and plan for the work to start in early 2026.

3. A sustainable church

Work to install an air source heat pump, remove two rows of pews and provide an accessible floor at the west end of the church, including underfloor heating continues. Subject to funding being made available, we currently plan for this work to be carried out by early 2027.

4. On completion

Our plan is to provide an accessible, warm and welcoming space within the 12th century Grade I listed church, to be known as the Lenham Village Hub. The unique space will be available for use by the Lenham and surrounding communities for socialising, learning and other gatherings
